Police are responding to a shooting in Barataria.

Details on this incident are still coming in, as it occurred along the Eastern Main Road shortly after 9 am today.

According to initial reports, people in the vicinity of a doubles stand close to Third Avenue, heard several loud explosions.

A man holding a gun was seen fleeing from the scene, while two men were observed on the ground in a pool of blood.

The police and paramedics were notified and the injured men were taken for treatment.

One of the victims was said to be in critical condition, having been shot multiple times about the body.
