Further enquiries led the officers to execute another search warrant at the home of another individual  who facilitated the transfer of the component firearm. In addition it was discovered that one of his numerous Pistols was reconfigured totally with other component parts creating an entire new firearm. Individual # 2 is the holder of an FUL. Both individuals were arrested. The danger of persons having excess component parts especially barrels will make it very difficult to link a Firearm if it is used in the comission of an crime. The barrel rifling signature of the original Firearm is kept at forensics. But if that barrel is changed then the Firearm will not be linked with the testing records at forensics.
