FATAL ACCIDENT IN VALENCIA: 65 YEAR OLD MAN KILLED

A 65-year-old man died in hospital yesterday after an accident along the Valencia Stretch.

Earl David, of Paul Street, Sangre Grande, succumbed to his injuries after a two-vehicle head-on collision on Friday night.

He died at the Sangre Grande Hospital while undergoing emergency surgery around 3.35 am yesterday. David suffered head and internal injuries in the accident.

The deceased’s wife, Michelle Julien-David, 50, sustained a fractured left leg and is hospitalised.

At around 10.55 pm on Friday, police officers responded to a report of a road traffic accident along the Valencia Stretch in the vicinity of Swan Quarry Road.

Upon arrival, the officers observed a green Hyundai Accent registration number PBF 5037 facing southwest, off the southern side of the roadway with damage to the entire front of the vehicle.

The occupant of the vehicle, driver Jean-Marc Sylvester, 32, from Eastern Main Road, Valencia, sustained injuries to his mouth.

The front of David’s vehicle, a silver Toyota Corolla L Touring wagon PBT 9922, was damaged, and his wife Julien-David was seated in the front passenger seat. The Davids were taken to the hospital by EHS Ambulance.

Also responding to the accident were Ag FSO Baldeo and officers from the Sangre Grande Fire Station.

An investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Ag Cpl Deosaran of the Valencia Police Post.
