A high powered rifle loaded with ammunition was recovered by Western Division police officers in Cocorite on Thursday morning.
An intelligence led exercise was conducted in Waterhole, Cocorite by officers attached to the Western Division Task Force. This exercise was held between 2am and 7am on Thursday 8th September, 2022.
The lawmen proceeded to a forested area situated at Upper Waterhole, Cocorite commonly called "The Cave". Whilst there several abandoned structures were searched and a Rifle loaded with a quantity of ammunition was found behind a galvanize structure. No one was arrested. Enquires continuing.
Several other houses and apartments were also searched in the Waterhole, Cocorite area however nothing illegal was found.
This exercise was spearheaded by Senior Superintendent (Ag) Rémy coordinated by Inspector(Ag) Grant, Sgt Jack & Acting Cpl Hunte and included Pc Peters, Pc Myers, Pc Rogers, Pc Figueira and Pc Peltier.
