VALSAYN MAN CHASED, ROBBED OF CAR AFTER CAURA LIME
GUARDIAN MEDIA REPORT
A Valsayn man who left Caura River just after midnight yesterday, was chased by gunmen who later robbed him of his vehicle.
According to police reports, the 35-year-old man, of Bassie Street, Spring Village, had just gotten into his Nissan Wingroad and was driving out of Caura Pool 2 around 12.30 am, when he saw a Toyota Aqua parked in front of the entrance, preventing him from exiting.
As he waited in his vehicle, he saw four men get out of the Aqua and walk toward him.
Fearful, the victim reversed into a drain and as he saw the men running towards him, he attempted to drive past them and ended up driving into another drain.
The victim told police one of the men opened the driver’s door and ordered him out, following which he exited and ran back towards Pool 2.
The men then got into the two vehicles and left.
Around 1.20 am yesterday, officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force on mobile patrol along Eastern Quarry, Laventille, observed the stolen vehicle parked on the road.
It was later wrecked and taken to the Woodbrook Police Station.
