DEVELOPING: Andrew Newyear who was one of four bandits arrested by the police Thursday morning following a shootout has died.
Both Newyear and Rawle Franklin, two known characters to the police, were injured during the shooting. Police did not provide details on their injuries.
Last year, Newyear was arrested after being accused of stealing a motorcycle and evading the court for six months. The men are now accused of carrying out several robberies on Wednesday night after kidnapping a taxi driver and hijacking his car.
