Rio Claro Man Arrested for Shop Breaking, Larceny and Malicious Damage

A 19-Year-old Rio Claro man was arrested and is expected to be charged for Shop Breaking, Larceny and Malicious Damage on Saturday 10th September, 2022.

It is reported that around 8.30 am on Friday 9th September, 2022 a 39-year-old, proprietor of Enid Village, Rio Claro secured is business place and went away. He returned around 10:00 am on Saturday 10th September,2022 and discovered the back door of the property broken into.

Upon checking he discovered a quality of alcohol and cigarettes valued at $7478.00 TT missing. He also observed damages to his 52-inch television set and four gaming boxes. A Report was made and an investigation commenced.

A party of officers interviewed persons and obtained information and subsequently executed a search warrant for stolen articles at the home of the suspect, however nothing was recovered at his home and he accompanied the officers to a bushy area approximately 200 feet off the roadway where a white crocos bag containing a quantity of alcoholic beverages and cigarettes were recovered and the accused arrested for the find.

Investigations are ongoing.
